Spring day #2

Another gorgeous day. Did a loop from New Mills to Whaley Bridge to Buxton its only about 50% off road and the good weather brought out plenty of roadies so found myself chasing any roadie or other mountain biker I saw - plenty knackered post ride - I blame the bike! Voodoo - Whodoo?!

Cheesey Sunsets

Beautiful weather best day of the year so far, the final ten minutes of the ride as sun was going down was well, close pefection*, to my surprise I felt as if I was descending on the rigid bike close to the speed of a bouncy forked bike (probably not but felt good all the [...]

Going solo

First Snow

Quick ride after the first snow fall of the year.

Dark + 1

Short sharp ride up to Hayfield and Shooting Cabins/Snake Path - managed to avoid chainsuck, crashing (just) and grouse (think I brushed its wing with my front tyre).
It was properly dark tonight - no moon, no stars and my lights felt underpowered (to the extent that it was luck not skill that got me down [...]

Chainsuckage

Wanted to get out for a longish 4 hour + ride today but my bike had other ideas…
Everything was fine-ish (only slight chainsuck) up until Kinder Low where the peat worked its magic and massive chainsuck ensued, although the bridleways have *started* to dry out its still a real mess up there. The quicker [...]
