Went out just as the rain started and finished just as it ended wanted to go for a long one (again) but got cold wet and miserable so after 2 hours headed back. I’m always surprised just how much harsher the weather can be just a couple of hundred feet up.

Finally got around to purchasing the zip ties (major achievement!) so fitted the CatEye computer. Although 3/4 of the way into the ride on a particularly exposed and windy climb my speed read 68 mph! Tedious run up to Birch Vale and back along the Sett Valley trail.
I think I’ve left training to late to do a sub 1.55 at the Wimslow half marathon my lungs/cardio feel good but I don’t think my knees/feet can take it.

Exact same ride as last Sunday.
The canal (and River Goyt in places!) had a thick layer of ice - really sunny and bright but v. cold out of the sun.
Conditions were great though all mud frozen solid you could actually fool yourself that you were riding on dusty dry singletrack on a hot summers day [...]

A pretty much run of the mill ‘local loop’ night ride - (god these posts are dull!).
The battery I use with my headtorch died five minutes into the ride (it had been charging for 7 hours) so looks as if its kaput…may need to get new lights sooner than later.
